Jennifer M, Hours, Tessie

Congratulations Jennifer Martin
Last Thursday Lyle Bootman, Ph.D., Sc.D., Dean of the College of Pharmacy sent a note of thanks to everyone involved in the visit of the accreditation team to the College. Of special note for us are the following sentences:
“There were many, many areas of strength and success however there were two areas that jumped off the chart in terms of great interest and a desire on the part of ACPE to share with others in the nationwide academic community. One was our unique relationship with our AHSC Library staff and the related program. The other was our "senior project" program which was more than successful in their opinion and a model for the country.” - J. Lyle Bootman, Ph.D., Sc.D., Dean, College of Pharmacy
This is *huge*. Accreditation means everything to the Colleges. This recognition of the work that Jennifer has done (and that many in the AHSL have done to back her up) shows that the liaison program is recognized and highly valued.

Extended Hours
After repeated requests from students for longer hours the AHSL is going to pilot test some new hours. In addition to our normal longer hours during exams, we will be extending our Sun-Thu hours to 2 AM starting today. The AHSL web page will be updated soon so that you can see the test schedule. We will be doing counts of students to see if they are taking advantage of the extended hours. In December we will decide whether to extend the hours or not.

Congratulations Tessie
The 2010 issue of Harmony, the humanities magazine of the College of Medicine is out. Tessie has a beautiful photograph called Blurred Wing in this issue. There is a copy in the office and Tessie probably has one if you’d like to see it.
