AHSL-Phoenix Monthly Report- October, 2008-November, 2008
October
· 8th -JD presented to UA Family Medicine Fellowship Class
· Began interview process for Assistant Librarian position (later cancelled)
· 15th -- Attended Breakfast Meeting: Start your day with the UofA: How does health info become health news. We to present soon due to interest of audience of health searching on the Web.
· 18th --JD attended Dinner in the Stacks at Phx Public Library-fundraiser representing UA COM-Phx.
· 18th –JD Attended Saturday session of Association of Academic Health Centers, topic was new medical schools.
· 22nd--JD participated in NLM Site visit of PSRML at UCLA.
· 28th – KS attended State Lib meeting about archives and depositories; may work to mount Dr. Kravetz collection. He is interested.
· 31st –Nov 3 – JD attended AAHSL and AAMC in San Antonio. AAHSL Symposium was AAHSL Workshop -"Return on Investment" for Academic Health Sciences Libraries
November
· 1st – JD worked with local artist who mounted major art show for campus
· 1st-3rd – JDD met with HR to finalize plans for hiring student workers for evenings and weekends.
· JDD interviewed 2 student applicants.
· 13th – LG attended Librarians: Let’s Escape the Box — CE Offering on November 13 in Tempe.
· 21st – JDD met with librarians from Glendale Public Library and Banner Thunderbird to plan for GPL hosting Changing the Face of Medicine exhibit. It will be here Dec and January and then go to AHSL-T for Feb-April.
· LG member of COM-P Holiday Celebration Committee and Door Decoration Contest. Both culminated in December 2nd Luncheon.
· KS continued to lead new Campus Applications Development Team.
